Reports: AC Milan line up bid to sign Darwin Nunez

According to Fichajes, AC Milan is gearing up to secure Darwin Nunez on an initial loan deal with a significant purchase option. The Rossoneri are reportedly keen to begin negotiations with Liverpool this January to bring the Uruguayan striker to Serie A.
Nunez has struggled to find his footing at Liverpool this season under Arne Slot. He has faced mounting pressure, losing his automatic starting spot to Diogo Jota in the No. 9 role, while Cody Gakpo has also been preferred ahead of him in the pecking order.
While Jota and Gakpo have delivered more consistently, Nunez has been scrutinized for his lack of clinical finishing and missed opportunities. Although Liverpool’s overall form hasn’t suffered significantly due to his struggles, Arne Slot may consider allowing Nunez to leave in search of regular game time.
Barcelona have shown interest in the striker, but their financial difficulties make any move highly unlikely. Meanwhile, Liverpool may be open to recouping a substantial portion of the fee they paid Benfica for Nunez in 2022, though his market value has seemingly dipped.
Reports suggest Liverpool are already exploring potential striker replacements, with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush emerging as a prime target. Should Nunez depart in January, the Reds could accelerate their pursuit of a new attacker.
AC Milan’s proposed deal includes a €55 million buy option as part of the loan agreement—considerably lower than the fee Liverpool originally paid. However, the Reds might see it as an opportunity to maximize value in the current market.
Adding fuel to the speculation, Nunez recently liked an Instagram post linking him to Milan, sparking rumors of a potential transfer. The coming weeks will determine how serious Milan are in their pursuit and whether Liverpool will sanction a loan move for the Uruguayan striker.
