Injury Boost: Arne Slot Confirms 3 Key Players Back in Training

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has received a significant boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth, with three key players returning to training.
While the exact participation of these players in the match is still uncertain, their recovery comes as a timely lift for the Reds, who are looking to bounce back from a midweek defeat in the Champions League.

One of the returning players is Diogo Jota, who has been sidelined since picking up a muscle injury during the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest earlier this month. His absence had forced Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez into prominent roles, though Nunez himself missed the midweek Champions League loss to PSV Eindhoven due to illness.
In his pre-match press conference, Slot confirmed that all three players were back in training. However, he was careful not to confirm whether they would be ready for the trip to Bournemouth.
“The question now is whether they are ready to travel,” Slot said. “We have over 20 players available, so we have to make the most strategic decision for both them and the game’s outcome.”
Curtis Jones is the only confirmed absentee, with no updates given on the midfielder’s condition. With several key players rested for the PSV game, Liverpool’s lineup for the Bournemouth match is expected to undergo significant changes. Alisson Becker, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah, and Luis Diaz are all set to return to the starting XI.
Meanwhile, Andy Robertson and Cody Gakpo, who featured in the PSV match, are likely to retain their spots in the team. With key players nearing full fitness, Liverpool will be eager to recover from their midweek setback and continue their strong league form as they push for the title.
