Leicester 0-1 Liverpool: Trent Strikes as Reds Close in on Title

Liverpool are just one win away from the Premier League title after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday evening.
Arsenal’s earlier win at Ipswich meant this wasn’t going to be the day the title was sealed, but it sets up a potential celebration at Anfield next weekend when Spurs come to town.
The match started dramatically with Mo Salah almost opening the scoring inside the first few minutes. His shot somehow hit both posts. Leicester, fighting to stay in the top flight, also struck the woodwork early on as both sides came close.
Chances were few and far between in the first half, with Ibrahima Konaté’s header from a corner the closest Liverpool came to scoring. Leicester, despite their position at the bottom, made it difficult and defended well.
The game opened up more in the second half. Dominik Szoboszlai forced a save from distance, Luis Diaz fired over from a Conor Bradley cross, and Salah had another go, which curled wide.
But the big moment came 20 minutes from time. Trent Alexander-Arnold was brought on and made an instant impact. After a corner that wasn’t properly cleared, the vice captain fired a low left-footed shot into the net to give Liverpool the lead.
His celebration was full of passion and emotion. He took off his shirt and shouted in front of the away fans before Kostas Tsimikas stepped in to calm him down.
The Reds held on for the win despite late pressure, and the result confirmed Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League.
