Liverpool teen Jayden Danns set for Sunderland switch

Sunderland are reportedly closing in on a loan deal for Liverpool’s talented forward, Jayden Danns, as the Championship club looks set to beat out other suitors. Sky Sports has confirmed that Sunderland will secure the services of the 19-year-old until the conclusion of the current season.
Danns has been part of Liverpool’s youth setup since he was just eight years old, rapidly rising through the ranks. Although he has yet to become a regular in the first team, he has already made nine senior appearances for the club.
The young Englishman made his debut for Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp last season and, despite his limited time on the field, has managed to score three goals at the top level. This season, under manager Arne Slot, he has featured in four first-team games.
However, with limited opportunities for regular first-team action, the talented teenager is unlikely to receive the consistent playing time he needs at Liverpool. Consequently, the Reds have made the decision to send him out on loan for the first time in his career.
Sunderland, currently fighting for automatic promotion to the Premier League, are eager to add Danns to their squad. Sitting in fourth place in the Championship standings, the Black Cats believe that bringing in fresh attacking options will give their promotion push a significant boost.
Danns has shown considerable promise during his time at Liverpool, and a loan spell at Sunderland could prove to be the perfect environment for his development. The young forward could benefit from regular game time, which might help him make the jump to regular first-team action in the future. Although Blackburn Rovers and Hull City also expressed interest, Sunderland has won the race for his signature.
Football Insider reports that before heading to the Stadium of Light, Danns will put pen to paper on a new contract with Liverpool. Despite having signed an extension last summer, the club wants to acknowledge his development and secure his future with a more lucrative deal before loaning him out.
