Alisson and Díaz Join Seventh-Day Mass For Jota & Andre

Liverpool players Alisson Becker and Luis Díaz travelled to Portugal to attend a special church service in honour of their late teammate Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva.
The two brothers died in a car accident in Spain last week. On Wednesday, a seventh-day mass was held at the main church in Gondomar, their hometown, to mark one week since their passing.
Alisson, who missed the funeral due to travel reasons, made it to this memorial. Luis Díaz, who also missed the funeral and faced some criticism online, came to pay his respects in person.

Many football stars were present at the service, including Diogo Costa, João Mário, Rúben Neves, and Portugal’s assistant coach Ricardo Carvalho. Jota’s agent, Jorge Mendes and the entire Penafiel team, where André Silva played, also attended.
Over 100 people gathered outside the church to bid farewell to the two brothers, demonstrating the profound love they were held in Portugal and beyond.
Earlier, Liverpool teammates, including Andy Robertson and Cody Gakpo, had attended the funeral, while manager Arne Slot and Michael Edwards laid flowers at Anfield.
Liverpool will play Preston North End on Sunday in their first match since Jota’s passing, with tributes expected before the game.
