Reports: Alisson Leaves Liverpool Japan Tour

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has reportedly left the club’s pre-season tour of Asia due to a personal matter.

According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, the Brazilian was granted permission to return home and is not expected to play in Liverpool’s final friendly against Yokohama F. Marinos on Wednesday at Nissan Stadium in Tokyo.

Alisson, 32, was absent from Tuesday’s open training session at JFA Dream Field. The club has not released an official statement, but it’s understood he will rejoin Arne Slot’s squad after their return to the UK later this week.

His absence means summer signing Giorgi Mamardashvili is likely to start against the Japanese side, with Freddie Woodman, Armin Pecsi and Kornel Misciur also available.

Alisson is now the third senior player to leave the tour. Joe Gomez returned to Merseyside last week after picking up an Achilles injury, while Luis Díaz travelled to Germany to finalise his move to Bayern Munich.
