Andy Robertson Leaves Emotional Note For Diogo Jota At Anfield

Andy Robertson has left a heartfelt tribute to Diogo Jota outside Anfield, days after the tragic death of his Liverpool teammate.
Jota, 28, died in a car crash in northern Spain last Thursday, along with his younger brother André Silva. The accident happened in Zamora as the two were travelling towards Santander. Spanish police later confirmed that a tyre blowout caused the crash and that both brothers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Diogo Jota’s death has left the football world in shock. He had just come off a historic season, winning both the Premier League with Liverpool and the Nations League with Portugal. He recently married his childhood sweetheart, Rute Cardoso, and was a father of three.
On Tuesday, Robertson visited the memorial outside Anfield, laying flowers and leaving a personal note. He had also attended Jota’s funeral in Portugal on Saturday alongside teammates and staff.
In his message, Robertson wrote:

“MacJota, our hearts are broken but feeling very grateful for the memories you gave us all! I will miss you. Love you brother. Robbo x”

The nickname “MacJota” was Robertson’s name for Jota, who was known to enjoy British sports like horse racing, darts, and snooker.
The tribute reflects the deep bond between the two players and shows just how much Jota meant to his teammates on and off the pitch.
