Arne Slot Wins LMA Performance of the Week Award

Arne Slot has won the Utilita LMA Performance of the Week award after Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The award, selected by a panel including Sir Alex Ferguson, Martin O’Neill, Chris Hughton, Rachel Yankey, Les Ferdinand, Clare Tomlinson, Jess Creighton, Stuart Pearce, and Barry Fry, recognized Liverpool’s dominant display on February 23.

Liverpool took control early, with Mohamed Salah scoring in the 17th minute after a well-worked corner routine. The Egyptian’s goal took his season tally to 30 and moved him level with Gordon Hodgson as the club’s third-highest scorer of all time. Dominik Szoboszlai sealed the win in the 40th minute after Salah set him up with a precise pass.

The victory extended Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League to 11 points, further strengthening their title challenge. Arsenal, in second place, still has a game in hand, but Slot’s side remains in a strong position.
