Carragher Criticizes Robertson and Urges Liverpool to Sign Milos Kerkez

Jamie Carragher, Sky Sports pundit, and Liverpool legend didn’t hold back in his criticism of Andy Robertson after his costly mistakes in the 2-2 draw against Fulham on Saturday.
It all started early in the game when Robertson was tackled by Fulham defender Issa Diop. Many believed it was a red card, but both the referee and VAR decided not to intervene. However, things quickly spiraled for Robertson and Liverpool.
Shortly after, Robertson’s poor defensive positioning allowed Andreas Pereira to score for Fulham, giving the visitors an unexpected lead at Anfield.
Then, just six minutes later, Robertson made another error. A heavy touch allowed Fulham’s Harry Wilson to seize the ball and break free toward goal. In an attempt to recover, Robertson fouled Wilson just outside the box, resulting in a straight red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Liverpool was forced to play with 10 men for the remainder of the match. Despite a Gakpo equalizer in the second half, Fulham regained the lead through Muniz in the 76th minute. It seemed like the Reds were heading for their second home defeat of the season, but Diogo Jota came to the rescue, scoring late to salvage a point for Liverpool.
In the aftermath, Carragher called for Liverpool to strengthen their left-back position. He urged the club to sign Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, a player Arne Slot is reportedly a fan of, to provide the necessary backup for Robertson.
Carragher pointed out Robertson’s struggles during the Fulham match, mentioning how he seemed off after the early tackle and made mistakes that led to the red card. He said, “He needs help. Liverpool haven’t got any backup, and it’s something they need to address in January.”
Carragher also praised Kerkez’s performances at Bournemouth, saying he has been a revelation in the Premier League. “Kerkez looks like a full-back, and he’s aggressive. He’s been superb since he came into the Premier League and is one to watch.”
The move makes sense, especially since Richard Hughes, who brought Kerkez to Bournemouth, is now Liverpool’s sporting director.
