Manchester United Pay Tribute to Diogo Jota and Andre Silva at Anfield

Manchester United have paid their respects to Diogo Jota and his younger brother Andre Silva with a touching gesture at Anfield.
United manager Ruben Amorim visited the memorial on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by Portuguese players Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot. The trio laid flowers on behalf of the Old Trafford club, joining hundreds of fans and football figures who have honoured the memory of the two brothers.
“Rest in peace, Diogo and Andre,” read the message attached to the wreath. “With deepest condolences from everyone at Manchester United.”

Jota, 28, and Silva, 25, both tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Zamora, Spain, on 3 July. The two were very close, with Silva also playing football at a professional level.
Fernandes and Dalot were not only international teammates of Jota but also part of the Portugal squad that won the UEFA Nations League last month. Their presence at Anfield showed how deeply the loss has been felt across the football world, not just at Liverpool.
Liverpool recently honoured Jota by retiring the number 20 shirt he wore during his time at the club. Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Preston saw emotional tributes, with a minute’s silence, banners, and fans singing Jota’s name.
