Confirmed Liverpool Lineup vs Newcastle United: Caoimhin Kelleher Starts

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has made two changes to his starting XI for tonight’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle at Wembley, with Caoimhin Kelleher taking his place between the posts and Jarell Quansah stepping in to replace the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Kelleher, who has been a reliable figure in cup competitions, gets the nod over Alisson Becker. Quansah’s inclusion at right-back is an enforced change, with Alexander-Arnold sidelined due to injury. The young defender will be tasked with containing Newcastle’s attacking threats while contributing to Liverpool’s build-up play.
The backline remains solid, with Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate forming a formidable center-back partnership, while Andy Robertson provides his usual energy and width on the left flank.
In midfield, the trio of Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Ryan Gravenberch will look to control the tempo of the game. Their blend of creativity, work rate, and technical ability will be crucial in breaking down Newcastle’s defensive structure and creating chances for the forwards.
Up front, Mohamed Salah leads the attack, supported by the dynamic duo of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota. Their pace, movement, and clinical finishing will be key to unlocking Newcastle’s defense and securing silverware for the Reds.
On the bench, Slot has a wealth of options, including Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott, who could all play pivotal roles if called upon in the second half.
Confirmed Liverpool Lineup: Kelleher, Quansah, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Salah, Diaz, Jota.
