‘Liverpool Will Always Be Part Of Me’ – Darwin Nunez Sends Touching Goodbye Message

Darwin Nunez has said goodbye to Liverpool fans with an emotional message after completing his permanent move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

The Uruguay striker, who joined Liverpool in 2022 from Benfica for a reported £85 million, left Anfield after three years, scoring 40 goals in 143 appearances and helping the Reds win the Premier League and Carabao Cup.

Liverpool confirmed the £53 million deal for Núñez earlier this week, with the striker making an immediate impact by scoring on his debut for Al-Hilal in their 6-0 friendly win over FC Aarau on Sunday.

Coming off the bench at half-time with the score at 3-0, Nunez fired home a goal in the 87th minute to complete the rout.

In a heartfelt social media post, Nunez wrote:

Thank you, Liverpool. Three years on, it’s time to say goodbye. I’ll take with me countless memories that will live with me forever.

I leave with a full heart, thanks to the love of a crowd that never let me down and always had my back — through the highs and through the lows. Liverpool will always be part of who I am. I’ll miss you more than words can say. To all my staff and teammates — thank you, and all the very best for the future.

Despite his memorable moments, Núñez had limited game time last season, starting only eight Premier League matches and just once this year. He reportedly asked to leave Liverpool in January amid interest from Saudi clubs but stayed to help the Reds secure the Premier League title.

Liverpool also rejected a bid from Napoli for Núñez in June, as the offer of just over £45 million paid in instalments starting in 2026 did not meet the club’s valuation.
