Gravenberch crowned Premier League Young Player of the Season

Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch has been voted the best young player in the Premier League for the 2024/25 season.

The Dutch midfielder saw off competition from seven other nominees, including Liam Delap, Anthony Elanga, Dean Huijsen, Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers and William Saliba. The award recognises players who were aged 23 or under at the start of the season

Gravenberch joined Liverpool last summer from Bayern Munich in a £40 million deal and has quickly grown into one of the standout midfielders in the division. Operating in a deeper role under Arne Slot, he has led all Premier League midfielders in interceptions and was ever-present in the Reds’ starting XI as they marched to the title

He was also nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season award, which was won by teammate Mohamed Salah, becoming the only player to be shortlisted in both categories

The 23-year-old now succeeds Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, last season’s winner, and adds another individual honour to his breakthrough year in England
