Henderson to Be Present If Liverpool Clinch 21st League Title

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson could return to Anfield to witness his old club lift a record-extending 21st league title.
New manager Arne Slot and his squad have officially kicked off their pre-season training this week, albeit later than scheduled and under the cloud of tragedy following the untimely passing of forward Diogo Jota.
The Portuguese international’s death has cast a shadow over the preparations, but the club remains focused on the campaign ahead.
Slot, who sensationally led Liverpool to their 20th league title in his debut season, is already making waves in the transfer market. The Dutchman has strengthened the squad with the high-profile signings of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, three dynamic players who may feature as early as tomorrow in a pre-season clash against Preston.
With Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City hot on their heels, Liverpool will be looking to defend their crown and claim their 21st league title, further solidifying their status as English football royalty.
The club’s long-serving former captain, who recently agreed to join Brentford following a brief stint at Ajax, where his contract was mutually terminated, could be in attendance at Anfield if Liverpool are on course to lift the trophy.
Liverpool’s final home match of the season is against Brentford on Sunday, May 24th (4pm), setting the stage for a potential reunion between Henderson and the Liverpool faithful.
If the Reds have already wrapped up the title by then, as they did last season, Brentford could be lining up for a guard of honour, with Henderson standing on the opposite side of the ceremony for a club he spent over a decade representing.
Between 2011 and 2023, Henderson made 492 appearances, scoring 33 goals for Liverpool. His honours include: Premier League title (2019–20), Champions League (2019), FIFA Club World Cup (2019), FA Cup (2022), League Cup (2012, 2022) and UEFA Super Cup (2019).
