Jamie Carragher Predicts Two Trophies for Liverpool This Season

Jamie Carragher predicts two trophies for Liverpool this season, with the Premier League and Carabao Cup being the primary targets.
The former Liverpool defender and CBS Sports pundit shared his thoughts during the network’s Champions League coverage, expressing confidence in the Reds’ domestic ambitions but skepticism about their chances in Europe.
Liverpool’s hopes of a historic quadruple were dashed after a shock FA Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle, but their season remains alive on multiple fronts.
A win in the upcoming Merseyside Derby against Everton could extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points, solidifying their status as title favorites. Additionally, having already secured a place in the Carabao Cup final, Liverpool are well-positioned to achieve a double.
Carragher believes the Premier League is the priority for Liverpool this season. Speaking on CBS Sports, he said,
“No, I think the league is the most important for Liverpool this season. Once we get to March or April, if Liverpool are playing midweek in the Champions League or a league match on the weekend, most people will want the league. I think Liverpool win the league and the Carabao Cup.”
While OPTA statistics give Liverpool a 24.5% chance of winning the Champions League, Carragher remains cautious. He highlighted the challenges posed by European giants like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich, as well as strong contenders such as Arsenal and Inter Milan.
For now, Liverpool’s focus is on maintaining their Premier League lead and securing silverware in the Carabao Cup
