PSG 0-1 Liverpool: Elliott’s Late Strike Seals Win in Paris

Liverpool pulled off a dramatic 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, thanks to a 90th-minute winner from substitute Harvey Elliott. Despite being outplayed for much of the game, the Reds held firm defensively and capitalized on their only real chance of the match to take a crucial advantage back to Anfield.
PSG dominated possession and created numerous chances, with Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia causing constant problems for Liverpool’s defense. Alisson Becker was the hero for the visitors, making a string of vital saves, including a stunning one-on-one stop to deny Dembele and a fingertip save to keep out a Kvaratskhelia curler.
The hosts thought they had taken the lead in the first half when Kvaratskhelia found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside by the narrowest of margins. Liverpool, meanwhile, struggled to create anything of note, with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz largely isolated and the midfield overrun by PSG’s intensity.
As the game entered stoppage time, Liverpool struck against the run of play. A long ball from Alisson was flicked on by Darwin Nunez, and Elliott, who had just come off the bench, fired a first-time shot into the far corner. Gianluigi Donnarumma got a hand on it but couldn’t keep it out, sparking wild celebrations from the traveling Reds.
The result leaves Liverpool in a strong position heading into the second leg at Anfield, but they will know they cannot rely on Alisson to bail them out again. For PSG, it was a night of frustration as their dominance went unrewarded.
