Liverpool FC Women Sign Alejandra Bernabe on Loan

Liverpool FC Women have reinforced their squad with the signing of Spanish left-back Alejandra Bernabe on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. The deal, finalized at the AXA Melwood Training Centre, sees the talented 23-year-old bolster Matt Beard’s side as they look to cement their place among the Women’s Super League’s elite.

Bernabe brings a wealth of experience to Liverpool, having previously played for Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad before her move to Chelsea. A dynamic and technically skilled full-back, she has competed in Spain’s top flight and gained valuable exposure in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Additionally, her international pedigree includes a senior cap for Spain in 2022, highlighting her quality at the highest level of the game.

Liverpool’s move to bring Bernabe into their ranks signals their ambition to challenge the league’s top sides. Her ability to seamlessly transition between defense and attack provides the Reds with an additional dimension on the left flank. Known for her tenacity, speed, and pinpoint crossing ability, she adds depth and competition to the squad, ensuring that Liverpool remains a formidable force throughout the campaign.

Upon signing, Bernabe expressed her excitement at joining the club. “Liverpool is a massive club with incredible fans. I’m thrilled to be here and eager to contribute,” she stated. Her passion and determination to succeed in the WSL underline her commitment to making a lasting impact in English football.

As the Reds aim for a strong finish in the WSL, Bernabe is expected to play an influential role. Her versatility allows her to support defensive stability while offering attacking prowess down the wing. “I love to defend, attack, and contribute to the team in any way I can,” she added, emphasizing her well-rounded style of play.
