Liverpool FC Women have honoured former manager Matt Beard with a minute’s silence at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.
Beard, who passed away suddenly at the weekend, enjoyed two memorable spells in charge of the Reds. He led the club to back-to-back Women’s Super League titles in 2013 and 2014 and later returned to secure promotion from the Championship in 2022.
Sunday’s WSL fixture against Aston Villa was postponed as a mark of respect, with the squad resuming training on Monday. Before beginning their session, players and staff paused together to remember their former boss.
