Mo Salah Named Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year

After another brilliant season, Liverpool star Mo Salah has been voted the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year.
The Egyptian forward has been in top form this campaign, scoring 33 goals and providing 23 assists across all competitions. His performances have been crucial in helping Liverpool secure their 20th Premier League title.
Salah has started every league game this season under Arne Slot and recently committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year deal.

This is the third time he has won the FWA award, having also taken the honour in the 2017-18 and 2021-22 seasons. The award is voted for by hundreds of football journalists from across England.
The 32-year-old beat strong competition from Liverpool teammates Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch, as well as Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, to pick up the prize.
