Mo Salah Reveals Half-Time Talk That Sparked Liverpool Comeback

Mo Salah has opened up about the fiery half-time team talk from manager Arne Slot that sparked Liverpool’s 3-1 comeback win over Southampton.

The Reds were trailing at the break after a defensive mix-up, but a strong second-half performance saw them turn the game around, with Salah scoring two penalties and Darwin Nunez adding another goal.

Speaking after the match, Salah shared what Slot told the players during the break:

“A bit of frustration. The manager, his head, was like going for us – but that’s something you need sometimes. Because first half, the game was sloppy, we just were slow and taking our time, and in the last minute they managed to [go ahead in] the game. But we are now more experienced, we can manage that situation, and I’m glad that we did.”

Salah also admitted Liverpool didn’t play their best:

“Yeah, because I don’t think we played well today. Maybe second half we played a little bit better, but first half we didn’t play well at all. But if you want to win the Champions League or the Premier League, you have to win those kinds of games.”

The win extended Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League to 16 points, putting them in a strong position as they chase the title.

Next up, Liverpool will play the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against PSG as they aim to continue their impressive form.
