Rio Ngumoha signs first professional contract

Liverpool FC have confirmed that forward Rio Ngumoha has signed his first professional contract with the club, keeping him at Anfield until 2028. The deal was announced after Ngumoha’s 17th birthday.

Ngumoha joined Liverpool’s Academy from Chelsea in September 2024 and quickly impressed across the U18s, U19s, and U21s. He made his senior debut in an Emirates FA Cup tie against Accrington Stanley in January 2025 and has since made five appearances for the first team.

The England U19 international scored a dramatic 100th-minute winner on his Premier League debut in a 3-2 victory at Newcastle United last month, becoming Liverpool’s youngest ever goal-scorer.

He also made his European debut when coming off the bench in a Champions League win over Atletico Madrid at Anfield and most recently appeared in Tuesday’s 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Southampton.
