Roberto Firmino Joins Al-Sadd After Leaving Al-Ahli

Former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino has joined Qatari champions Al-Sadd after confirming his exit from Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
The 33-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract with Al-Sadd, who won the Qatar Stars League title last season. His move comes just weeks after helping Al-Ahli win the Asian Champions League Elite title in May.

Firmino spent two seasons in Jeddah after leaving Liverpool in 2023. He played a major part in Al-Ahli’s historic continental success, scoring six goals in 12 matches and providing two assists in the final against Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale.
“I’m happy because we made history at the club during these two years together,” Firmino said in a farewell video. “The best moment was to become the champions of Asia. I’m very grateful for this.”
The Brazilian was named the tournament’s best player and became one of the first footballers to win continental titles in both Asia and Europe, joining teammates Riyad Mahrez and Edouard Mendy in that unique achievement.
Firmino will now link up with an Al-Sadd side that has qualified for the next edition of the Champions League Elite after their title win.
