Alisson Becker Named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for March

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been voted the club’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for March. It’s his first time winning the award since October 2022.
Alisson topped the fan poll on Liverpool’s official website, securing 29% of the votes to beat Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai.
After receiving the trophy, the Brazilian expressed his delight, saying, “First of the season! I’m so happy. Everybody knows how hard it is to win this award here at this club with Mohamed Salah winning 90 per cent of them!”

The standout moment of his month came during the Champions League last-16 first leg against Paris Saint-Germain. Alisson made nine crucial saves to help secure a 1-0 win, calling it the performance “of my life.” Despite the team losing the return leg, Alisson’s efforts were pivotal throughout March, including in the 3-1 Premier League win over Southampton.
Looking ahead to April, Alisson remains focused on improving, both individually and as a team. “I think the purpose of losing games is to make yourself better. You have to take the best part of it,” he said. “We know we have to improve in respect to the last month – but we are ready for that.”
