Arne Slot Issues Injury Update on Alisson and Four Teammates

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has shared the latest injury news as the team prepares to face Fulham. Goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who missed the recent win against Everton due to a concussion, is still being assessed.

Arne Slot confirmed that Alisson didn’t meet the necessary Premier League protocol to play, so Caoimhin Kelleher stepped in and may do so again if Alisson isn’t cleared in time for the Fulham game.

Asked during his pre-Fulham press conference about Alisson’s condition, Slot said:

“With Ali, it is simple: it is a concussion, and you have to tick all the boxes. The moment he does, he will be in goal. The moment he doesn’t, we are following the protocol.”

When asked whether Curtis Jones could continue at right-back this weekend, Slot replied:

“That also depends on if players are coming back, the last one. Of course, Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Joe [Gomez] will not be back in the upcoming weeks. Conor, we have to wait and see if he is ready to be with the squad on Sunday.

“Then of course Curtis is an option because he did well, but I think Jarell [Quansah] did well a few times in that position also. Let’s wait and see which decision we make on Sunday.”

Regarding Alexis Mac Allister, Slot remained hopeful:

“The boys still didn’t come in yet. I hope because Macca [Alexis Mac Allister] finished the game that it is all good with him.

“But sometimes adrenaline or just keeping on running can help you, and then when you have a night of sleep, you can come back and feel, ‘Hmm, maybe I do feel something now.’

“But I hope and expect everybody is ready to play on Sunday again from the ones that were on the pitch yesterday.”

After beating Everton, Liverpool sits 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League. However, Arsenal could reduce the gap to nine points with a win against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
