Harvey Elliott Named U21 Euro 2025 Player Of The Tournament

Harvey Elliott has been named Player of the Tournament at the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship after playing a key role in helping England retain their crown.
The Liverpool midfielder was outstanding throughout the competition in Slovakia, starting all six matches and scoring five goals, including in the quarter-final, semi-final, and Saturday’s 3-2 extra-time win over Germany in the final.
Elliott opened the scoring just five minutes into the final, adding to goals he had already scored against Spain in the quarter-final, a brace against the Netherlands in the semi-final, and one in the group stage against Czechia.

The 22-year-old is now a two-time U21 European champion, having also been part of the England squad that lifted the trophy in 2023. But this time, he was one of the stars of the tournament.
Elliott’s performances earned high praise from UEFA’s Technical Observer Group, who selected him as the best player of the tournament.
Without doubt England’s most effective player from the first game onwards, the group said.
AdvertisementTactically, he showed incredible awareness to find spaces and receive passes in dangerous positions, and then the ability to make a difference, including scoring and creating some of the team’s most crucial goals.
He also showed excellent leadership qualities, a great work ethic and team behaviour. A big player for the big stage.
