Harvey Elliott Sends Message To Tuchel After Euro U21 Final

Harvey Elliott says he hopes he caught the eye of Thomas Tuchel after scoring in the final and helping England win the 2025 UEFA Under-21 European Championship.
The Liverpool midfielder was one of the standout performers of the tournament in Slovakia, scoring five goals in six games, including the opener just five minutes into the final as England beat Germany 3-2 after extra time to retain their crown.
Tuchel, who is now in charge of England’s senior team, was in the stands to watch the Young Lions lift the trophy.
Speaking to Channel 4 after the match, Elliott admitted it meant a lot to perform well in front of the new boss.
Yeah, you know, I hope so,” Elliott said. It’s never going to be easy because of the talent that’s in the team, world-class players from top to bottom.
AdvertisementIt’s just about me working hard, trying to show at club level and hopefully getting the opportunity.
We’re thankful for him coming out here to support us. Hopefully we put on a show for him. And who knows?

Elliott’s form throughout the tournament earned him the Player of the Tournament award, with UEFA’s Technical Observer Group praising his tactical intelligence, leadership and ability to deliver on the big stage.
The 22-year-old will now return to Liverpool full of confidence ahead of pre-season with new manager Arne Slot, and possibly on the radar for a call-up to Tuchel’s first senior England squad.
This one meant a lot more. There was big expectation, big pressure. But the way the lads handled it from start to finish… no one deserves it more than us.
