Trey Nyoni Signs New Long-Term Liverpool Deal

Trey Nyoni has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool today as he celebrates his 18th birthday.

The midfielder joined the Reds from Leicester City two years ago and has quickly developed into one of the most exciting young players at the club.

Nyoni enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season, featuring across all levels from the U18s to the senior team. He made six first-team appearances and spent much of the year training with the senior squad.

He made history in February 2024 when he came off the bench in the FA Cup win over Southampton, becoming the fourth-youngest player in Liverpool’s history at 16 years and 243 days.

He later set another club record in Europe, becoming the Reds’ youngest-ever player in the Champions League when he featured against PSV Eindhoven at 17 years and 213 days.

Nyoni also impressed during last summer’s pre-season, scoring at Anfield against Sevilla. He is expected to feature again this summer as the squad returns to training next week ahead of friendlies against Preston North End, AC Milan, Yokohama Marinos and Athletic Bilbao.

Liverpool will then face Crystal Palace in the Community Shield at Wembley.
