Jamie Carragher spots a ‘rusty’ Liverpool player in first half vs Wolves

Liverpool entered halftime with a commanding 2-0 lead over Wolves, but Jamie Carragher’s sharp analysis highlighted an area of concern, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s slow start.
The Reds were perhaps fortunate to still have all 11 players on the pitch after Ibrahima Konaté’s heavy challenge on Matheus Cunha went unpunished. However, their lead was fully deserved, as Liverpool capitalized on Wolves’ defensive vulnerabilities to take control of the match. A win would restore their seven-point cushion over Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher noted that Alexander-Arnold took time to find his rhythm following his recent absence.
“In the first 20 minutes, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s passing has been a little rusty, it’s to be expected, as he’s been out for a while,” the Liverpool legend observed.
Despite the initial struggles, the right-back gradually settled into the game, growing in confidence as the half progressed.
With Liverpool pushing for silverware this season, Alexander-Arnold’s return could be pivotal in the final stretch. His ability to dictate play from deep remains one of the team’s most valuable assets, and any concerns over his sharpness will likely diminish with more minutes on the pitch.
