Report: Liverpool Could Turn to Jackson if Isak Deal Fails

Liverpool are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding Alexander Isak’s future, with Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson emerging as a potential late-window alternative if a deal for the Newcastle United forward proves unattainable.
The Reds saw a £110 million bid rejected by Newcastle earlier this summer, with the Magpies insistent that they will not sell Isak on unfavourable terms.
However, Arne Slot’s side remain determined to add a striker before the transfer window closes, and Jackson could yet come into play.
According to The Telegraph’s Chelsea correspondent Matt Law:
There remains a belief that Isak’s future could still prompt late interest from either Newcastle or even Liverpool in Jackson, depending on what happens over the Sweden international.

Bayern Munich are currently leading the race to sign Jackson, who has fallen out of favour under Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
The deal is likely to be structured as a loan with an obligation to buy, but Chelsea are stalling on sanctioning his exit in case late suitors such as Liverpool or Newcastle enter the frame.
Jackson has already been linked with a move to Newcastle in past windows, while Aston Villa are also interested in the 23-year-old.
Last season, the Senegalese striker made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring 14 goals as Chelsea lifted the FIFA Club World Cup.
Liverpool’s transfer strategy hinges on the outcome of their pursuit of Isak, but if negotiations remain deadlocked, the Reds could pivot quickly to Jackson as a more attainable option in the final days of the window.
