Good News: Trent Alexander-Arnold Avoids Serious Injury

Liverpool have received a major boost as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury is not as bad as initially feared. The right-back was forced off during the Reds’ 2-0 victory over Bournemouth, but scans have confirmed that he will only be out for a short period.
Paul Joyce reports that Alexander-Arnold will be sidelined for “days rather than weeks,” easing concerns over a lengthy absence. Despite the positive update, he is not expected to feature in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham on Thursday or the FA Cup clash with Plymouth on Sunday.
Conor Bradley is likely to step in at right-back, while Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah are alternative options. Academy defender Isaac Mabaya has also been training with the first team and could be considered.

Liverpool are now aiming to have Alexander-Arnold fit for the Merseyside derby against Everton next Wednesday, which is seen as a realistic target for his return. His comeback would provide a timely boost as the Reds continue their pursuit of silverware on multiple fronts.
Unlike Liverpool, Tottenham are dealing with a growing injury crisis. Ange Postecoglou could be without up to nine first-team players on Thursday, with new signing Radu Dragusin the latest casualty after suffering an ACL injury that is expected to rule him out for the rest of the season.
Liverpool’s squad remains in good shape, with Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez, and Diogo Jota all recently returning to action. With Alexander-Arnold’s absence set to be brief, Jurgen Klopp’s side will hope to maintain their strong momentum in the coming fixtures.
