Olivia Smith Nominated For PFA Young Player Of The Year

Olivia Smith’s breakthrough season at Liverpool FC Women has earned her a place on the shortlist for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The 19-year-old made a huge impact in her first year at the club, scoring nine goals in all competitions, three of which came at Anfield. She also chipped in with an assist and quickly became a fan favourite with her fearless style and eye for goal.

Smith’s performances haven’t gone unnoticed by her peers, with players across the league voting her into the top six young talents of the season. She’s up against Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton, Mary Fowler, Maika Hamano and Wieke Kaptein for the award.

Her efforts also saw her named Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Player of the Season, rounding off a brilliant debut campaign.

The winner will be announced at the PFA awards ceremony in Manchester on August 19.
