Spanish police release new statement on Diogo Jota’s death

Spanish police have confirmed that Diogo Jota is believed to have been the one driving the Lamborghini when it crashed and killed both him and his brother, Andre Silva.

The heartbreaking accident happened in the early hours of July 3 as the two brothers travelled across northern Spain. Their car veered off the road, crashed, and caught fire. Initial reports said a tyre may have burst while the car was trying to overtake another vehicle.

Now, in an update from the Civil Guard in Zamora on Tuesday, as reported by Sky Sports, investigators say all signs point to Jota being behind the wheel. They also believe the car was “significantly over the speed limit” for that highway.
