Arrigo Sacchi Praises Arne Slot’s Liverpool as ‘Impossible to Stop’

Legendary AC Milan manager Arrigo Sacchi has heaped praise on Arne Slot’s Liverpool, describing the team as “practically impossible” to stop. Writing for Gazzetta dello Sport, the two-time Champions League-winning coach expressed his admiration for how the Dutchman has built a strong and dominant side in his first season at Anfield.

Despite losing their final league phase match to PSV Eindhoven, Liverpool finished as the top team in the revamped UEFA Champions League format, ahead of FC Barcelona, Arsenal, and Inter Milan. Sacchi believes that Slot has successfully maintained the high-intensity playing style introduced by Jürgen Klopp while adding his own tactical details to make the team even more effective.

“The team that impressed me the most was undoubtedly Liverpool,” Sacchi wrote. “They’re going full throttle, and stopping them when they accelerate is practically impossible. Their dominance in the Premier League is proof of that.”

Sacchi, who revolutionized football with his attacking philosophy at AC Milan, sees similarities in how Liverpool play under Slot. The team’s speed, pressing, and clinical finishing make them one of the most dangerous sides in Europe this season.

With Liverpool set to face one of AS Monaco, Benfica, Brest, or PSG in the Champions League Round of 16, their chances of progressing further look promising. If Slot’s side continues to perform at this level, they could go all the way to the final in Munich and lift their seventh European title—an achievement that would surely impress even a legendary figure like Sacchi.
