This season, Robinson ranks highly in tackles (3rd, 50), interceptions (1st, 31), and clearances (16th, 58), solidifying his status as the league’s top left-back. Beyond numbers, his ability to handle elite wingers like Bukayo Saka and Mohamed Salah speaks volumes about his quality.
Despite being a key player for Fulham, Robinson’s price tag is unlikely to break the bank. This is a transfer Liverpool should prioritize.
Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth)
Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez has also shone since arriving in the Premier League as a 19-year-old. His performances are even more impressive when you consider his age—Robinson, at the same stage, was on loan at Bolton.
Kerkez offers a great balance between attacking prowess and defensive reliability, key traits for a modern full-back. Manchester United has been linked to him, but Liverpool would be wise to join the race. His statistics this season include four big chances created, two assists, 22 tackles, 17 interceptions, and 35 clearances. However, his aerial ability remains a weak spot, having lost 18 of his 26 aerial duels.
Slot’s tactical setup could minimize this flaw, as Robertson has barely contested aerial battles this season. If Virgil van Dijk remains, Kerkez could thrive in a system that encourages both full-backs to push forward.
Lewis Hall (Newcastle)
Newcastle’s Lewis Hall could be another excellent addition. Although Newcastle fans might not want to hear it, Hall has been outstanding this season. Reports suggest the club may need to offload players to balance their books, and Hall could fetch a significant fee.
Hall’s versatility would make him a natural fit at Liverpool, especially if Trent Alexander-Arnold departs. The young defender is adept at both inverting into midfield and operating as a more traditional full-back, similar to Robertson. While this move seems unlikely, Hall’s potential makes him worth considering.
Rayan Ait-Nouri (Wolves)
We’ve long admired Rayan Ait-Nouri, and a move to a top-six club feels overdue. While he’s the weakest defensively among the players mentioned, his attacking contributions would suit Liverpool’s style, where full-backs focus heavily on offense.
Ait-Nouri’s ability to create chances and support attacks makes him a viable target. Despite his defensive shortcomings, his flair and creativity could make him a valuable asset for Slot’s Liverpool.
Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich)
Turning to Europe, Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich is another intriguing option. With his contract expiring at the season’s end, several elite clubs, including Real Madrid, are reportedly interested. Liverpool should also throw their hat into the ring.
Davies is widely regarded as one of the best left-backs globally, and his availability on a free transfer would be a golden opportunity for Liverpool to strengthen their squad significantly.
Theo Hernandez (AC Milan)
