“They’re Unbelievable” – Fowler Reacts to Liverpool’s No Signings in January
Liverpool chose not to make any new signings during the January transfer window, a decision that has divided fans. While some hoped for fresh additions, club legend Robbie Fowler isn’t worried. He believes the Reds are already in a strong position and sees no reason to be concerned.
Speaking on The Line Up, Fowler admitted that, as a fan, he always wants Liverpool to sign players, but he understands why the club decided to stick with the current squad.
“Of course, as a fan, I want my club to sign every player out there,” Fowler said. “If you’re not signing players, it can feel like you’re standing still or even going backwards because other clubs are strengthening. They might gain a slight edge.”
That said, Fowler acknowledged it’s hard to argue with Liverpool’s decision given their current form. Under Arne Slot, the team is sitting at the top of the Premier League and finished first in the UEFA Champions League group stage, proving their strength.

“When you’re top of the league and the Champions League, signing a player can send a strong message of intent,” Fowler added. “So, yes, I think clubs should always look to strengthen.”
Despite his belief that new signings can be beneficial, Fowler is full of praise for how Liverpool are performing right now.
“Watching them as a fan, they’re just unbelievable. The players are incredible, and the team is in such a good place.”
Liverpool did explore some options during the window, including a potential move for Rayan Cherki. However, Lyon owner John Textor made it clear the young talent wasn’t leaving, meaning the Reds will continue their campaign with the squad they have.
With Liverpool in outstanding form under Slot, Fowler’s comments reflect the confidence in the team as they chase trophies this season.
