Mo Salah named 2024/25 Premier League Player of the Season

Mo Salah has been crowned the 2024/25 Premier League Player of the Season after leading Liverpool to their second title in three years.

The 32-year-old forward has delivered another incredible campaign, scoring 28 goals and providing 18 assists in 37 league matches. With one game left, Salah leads both the scoring and assist charts and could match or break the assist record of 20 when Liverpool hosts Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday.

It is the second time Salah has won the award, having first claimed it in 2017/18. He scored 32 goals in his debut Premier League season with Liverpool back then. This year, he’s set a new benchmark with 46 goal involvements in a 38-game season, the highest ever recorded.

The award, decided by public votes and a panel of football experts, saw Salah beat off competition from teammates Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch, along with Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.

Salah also made history this season by overtaking Sergio Aguero as the Premier League’s all-time top-scoring overseas player. Earlier this month, he was voted Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year for the third time.

He now joins Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic and Kevin De Bruyne as the only players to have won the Premier League Player of the Season more than once.
