Reports: Liverpool Reject €55m Offer From Napoli For Darwin Nunez

Liverpool have turned down an offer worth €55 million from Napoli for striker Darwin Nunez, according to reports in Italy and from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Serie A champions are pushing to sign the Uruguayan forward as their top target this summer. Napoli’s opening bid was said to be €50m plus €5m in add-ons, which comes to around £47.5m. But Liverpool have made it clear that the offer is not enough.

Fabrizio Romano reported on his YouTube channel that “€50 million was never going to be enough for Liverpool” and confirmed that the club rejected the proposal. Napoli are still expected to return with a better offer in the coming days, as they remain keen on Nunez.

Liverpool’s asking price is believed to be at least €65m (£56m), and possibly closer to €70m (£60.5m). That means the current gap between both clubs is still wide. Sky Sports also reported that Liverpool are “prepared to listen to offers” but only on their terms.

Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 in a deal worth up to £85 million. Though he has scored goals and shown flashes of brilliance, he has struggled with consistency. Despite this, he continues to be a key player, especially following the tragic loss of Diogo Jota.

It remains to be seen if Napoli will return with a stronger offer that matches Liverpool’s valuation. For now, Nunez stays put, and Liverpool are not ready to sell on the cheap.
