Tottenham Sign Liverpool’s Luca Furnell-Gill

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of 18-year-old center-back Luca Furnell-Gill from Liverpool.

The deal was finalized on deadline day but only confirmed on Tuesday morning, nearly 12 hours after the window officially closed. Spurs have secured him on a contract that runs until 2028.

Furnell-Gill struggled for minutes this season, making just five appearances for Liverpool’s Under-18 side. However, he ended on a high note, scoring in his final match, a 4-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in December.

Tottenham confirmed his arrival, stating, “We are delighted to announce the signing of Luca Furnell-Gill from Liverpool. The centre-back, 18, has signed a contract which will run until 2028 and joins our Academy set-up.”

The young defender began his career as a winger before switching to center-back. He joined Liverpool from Preston North End at Under-15 level and developed through the ranks. Last season, he played 14 of Liverpool’s 26 league matches at the Under-18 level and also featured for the Under-21s this season.

Liverpool saw multiple youth departures on deadline day. Kaide Gordon joined Portsmouth on loan, while Dominic Corness moved to Gillingham on a short-term deal. Jayden Danns was also linked with a loan move to Sunderland, but there has been no official confirmation yet, even after Sunderland’s match against Middlesbrough on Monday night.

Spurs believe Furnell-Gill has the potential to grow into a key player for the future.
