Owen Beck Joins Derby On Loan After New Liverpool Deal

Liverpool have confirmed that Owen Beck has signed a new long-term contract and joined Derby County on a season-long loan for 2025–26.

The 22-year-old left-back will now link up with Rams boss John Eustace, who previously managed him at Blackburn Rovers. Beck made 25 appearances in the Championship last season before an injury cut short his campaign.

It marks another important step in Beck’s development after loan spells with Bolton Wanderers, Dundee, and Portuguese side Famalicão. He first broke into Liverpool’s senior squad in 2021, making his debut in a Carabao Cup tie away at Preston North End.

Beck featured nine times for Bolton during the first half of the 2022–23 season but was recalled after a delayed start to pre-season. He then impressed at Dundee and earned his move to Blackburn, where Eustace described him as “one of the most exciting full-backs in the country for his age.”

Speaking to Derbyshire Live, the Derby manager said: “He’s a really exciting young player and I was very fortunate to work with him last year.

“I think everyone could see the growth he made playing in the Championship, and he’s a super young, talented player, and he’s one of the most exciting full-backs in the country for his age at the moment.

“He’s just a very good young player. There is a lot to improve, and if he comes to Derby and chooses to come to us, our job is to help develop him.

“That’s my job and the coach’s job in that, whichever player comes to the football club, no matter how old or how young they are, they’re coming into an environment where they’re going to improve, get better, and to make sure that, on a Saturday, they’re very competitive.”

Beck will now be hoping for a strong, injury-free campaign at Pride Park as he continues his push toward more first-team opportunities at Anfield.
