Will Wright Signs for Liverpool

Liverpool have completed the signing of highly rated 17-year-old striker Will Wright from Salford City, beating off competition from several top Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.
The teenager makes the move to Merseyside on a permanent deal after breaking into the Salford first team during the 2024-25 season. He becomes the latest addition to Liverpool’s U21 squad as the club continues to strengthen its youth ranks.

Wright made his senior debut in November 2024, featuring in an EFL Trophy match against Wolves U21s. He went on to appear in the FA Cup and twice in League Two before earning interest from several top clubs.
The young forward linked up with Rob Page’s U21 side last week and was handed his unofficial debut on Saturday. He played the final 30 minutes of Liverpool U21s’ pre-season clash against Hull City at the AXA Training Centre, which ended in a goalless draw.
Wright’s arrival adds more attacking depth to the U21 squad ahead of the new season, with the Reds hopeful he can continue his development and push toward senior football in the future.
