Clae Ewing Signs Pro Deal with Liverpool

Liverpool have announced that Clae Ewing has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 18-year-old left-back has impressed with his performances for the U18s this season, earning him the new deal despite an injury that prematurely ended his campaign. Ewing began the season as a second-year scholar, establishing himself as the first-choice left-back and making his U21s debut in February.

Ewing, who joined Liverpool from Bury at the U12 level, made 15 appearances for the academy in the 2024/25 season. He also featured in the UEFA Youth League for the U19s during their last-16 defeat to VfB Stuttgart, where he showcased his attacking talent. The young defender is also capable of playing in midfield as a No. 8, adding tactical flexibility to his game.
Liverpool’s first professional contracts can last up to three years, potentially keeping Ewing at the club until 2028. His continued development could see him earn an improved deal in the future.
With Liverpool potentially making changes at left-back this summer, Ewing could get opportunities to impress manager Arne Slot and his coaching staff. For now, the youngster’s focus is on recovering from his injury and preparing for pre-season.
